A stylistically varied collection. The track ‘Extemporised melodies based on Itsukushimi Fukaki’, a solo melodic free improvisation on the ‘head’ of a well-known tune, is recorded well and highly accessible. The other pieces are far more abstract.

The main track in this collection – The Ornaments of Love – is a very accessible work – the most accessible of all my recent work – somewhat neo-classicistic, but quite ‘electro-pop’.

This is a single piece in 17 ‘movements’. It has neoclassicistic pretentions, being constructed in a post-modern ‘theme and variation style’. Improvised, deconstructed, reconstructed and recomposed.

Recurring thoughts (images of shibamata taishakuten temple)
Photographing Shibamata Taishakuten temple – famous for its beautiful carvings – from the outside, the reflection in the windows on such a sunny day produced some very satisfying natural layering effects.

A single piece in three movements, in postmodern-improv-electro-neoclassicist style. As the name suggests, it began as study of the harmonic possibilities of the North Indian Raag Marva.
Another as-yet unfinished collection, there are two tracks, plus two alternative mixes. These is a very ambient, abstract musical work. Not very accessible, but very intricate and absorbing for some.

A complete, though somewhat short, album. Stylistically varied: the track ‘Not of This World’, was quite popular (as much as can be said of music that almost no one listens to), in two different versions – one electro-jazz. The track, ‘The Enchantment’ is highly abstract, a satisfying track for those who like the obscure – two nice alternative mixes of this track are on the album ‘Whispers’.

First and longest album. Most popular track was ‘The Passing of Daisy Duck’, which was also used in a theatre work by Director Samia Mikhael. Includes some accessible ambient jazz pieces (Forgiveness, The Fullness of Time, Prayer Love); abstract, free-tempo pieces (Pure land of compassion, Bedouin Bus, Delicate Trust, A Lover Lost in Dreams) similar to recent works; and a very long slow minimal improvisation over sparse backing (Spatial Mantra).

This ongoing collection is for alternative mixes (although sometimes alternative mixes are included in the original collection). The ‘demixes’ (mixes with some parts removed) of ‘The Enchantment’ are both very good. The synth string tracks are – just as they sound – the string tracks from the tracks in question, minus the other instrumentation. The ‘backing’ tracks are – as they sound – the backing instrumentation of the tracks in question, minus the lead instrument.

This is an ongoing album for rough or demo tracks. There’s one track, ‘Old Worlds’, that’s actually a very nice composition reasonably played, although only recorded in demo quality. The other tracks are of less interest.
